Henry Luckow-Nielsen

Henry Luckow-Nielsen

Henry Luckow - Nielsen, 1902-1992, Danish sculptor, trained as a carver and at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts 1923-30. In clay, stone and bronze have Luckow -Nielsen conducted naturalistic sculptures, especially of women. They are set in several Danish cities, including Copenhagen, where his famous statue of H.C. Andersen (1961) stands at the town hall.

As a teacher at Frederiksberg Technical School in 1931, he has taught many Danish artists; he received The Academy's Gold medal (1930), the Eckersberg Medal (1960). The Eibeschützshe honorary scholarship, among other marks of tribute
